Job Description Summary

Assist the Director of Music Industry Studies in supporting academic, recruitment, and program-related activities for the Music Industry Studies program. 

This position provides event support, student engagement, facility tours, and administrative assistance while serving as an ambassador for the Conservatory of Music and the Music Industry Studies program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of Music Industry Studies events, classes, workshops, and program activities, including Chapman Jams and other special events.
  • Serve as a student representative for the Music Industry Studies program by participating in student panels, recruitment events, and outreach activities.
  • Provide tours of music facilities and learning spaces to prospective students and families.
  • Support departmental events and special projects through logistical and administrative assistance.
  • Assist with promoting Music Industry Studies events and activities through various communication channels.
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for prospective students, current students, faculty, and visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and represent the department professionally.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to assist with event setup and teardown activities.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn departmental procedures and support multiple projects and events.

Desired Qualifications

  • Declared major or minor in Music Industry Studies or a related field within the Conservatory of Music.
  • Familiarity with Chapman University’s Conservatory of Music programs and facilities.
  • Previous experience in event support, student leadership, campus involvement, or customer service.
  • Interest in music industry, arts administration, event management, or student recruitment.
