Mutual Funds Accountant Intern - Summer 2027

Thrivent is a financial services organization offering a summer internship program that provides college students with hands-on experience across business functions. The Mutual Funds Accountant Intern will support mutual fund operations, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, shareholder reporting, data validation, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.

What you'll do:

• Assist in the preparation of month end fund shareholder reports. This includes semi-annual reports (schedules of investments, financial statements, notes to financial statements), prospectus reporting, and fact sheets
• Assist with SEC regulatory filings and compliance requirements
• Compile and validate data and disclosures for various internal reporting and reports for the Mutual Funds/Series Funds/Core Funds Board of Trustees/Directors
• Improve and enhance process documentation to help mature internal controls environment
• Utilize AI-powered tools and data analytics to improve productivity

What they're looking for:

• Currently a Junior (Dec. 2027 or May 2028 graduation date) pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• A history of excellent academic performance (GPA 3.0+)
• Ability to leverage AI tools such as Copilot in working with large data sets
• Skilled in MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Excel
• Knowledge and understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and deal with tight deadlines in a team environment
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
