Travel Commitment
This is a 100% travel position supporting new club openings nationwide.
- Assignments are typically 90 days (approximately three months) at each new club location.
- A one-week break is generally provided between assignments.
- Club assignments may occur anywhere within the United States and are not limited to a specific region.
- All approved business travel, lodging, and applicable travel expenses are provided by Crunch Fitness | Fitness Ventures LLC.

Reporting Structure
The New Club Fitness Director provides leadership and oversight for the fitness department during assigned club openings.

Key Performance Indicators
Success in this role is measured by the achievement of departmental performance metrics, including:
- Personal Training revenue performance
- Achievement of department budget goals
- Personal Training opportunities sold, completed, and enrolled
- Client retention of 90% or greater
- Personal Training enrollment rate of 10% or greater from all new memberships
- Trainer productivity and utilization
- Fitness team development and retention
- Member experience and service quality
Essential Responsibilities
New Club Fitness Leadership
- Lead all fitness department activities during the pre-sale, grand opening, and stabilization phases of assigned new clubs.
- Build and develop a high-performing fitness department capable of achieving company standards from opening day.
- Establish the fitness culture, operating procedures, and service expectations for each new location.
- Transition the fitness department to permanent club leadership following successful stabilization.
- Serve as the primary fitness leader and subject matter expert during all assigned openings.
Talent Acquisition & Team Development
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and develop qualified Personal Trainers, Managers-in-Training (MIT), Personal Training Managers (PTM), and Assistant Personal Training Managers.
- Conduct regular coaching sessions, performance reviews, and team meetings.
- Develop future leaders through ongoing mentoring and succession planning.
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, payroll, and labor expenses within established departmental budgets.
- Address employee relations matters and administer performance management in accordance with company policies.
Sales Leadership
- Drive Personal Training sales during pre-sale and post-opening periods.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue objectives established by the company.
- Train and coach staff on:
- Fitness consultations
- Referral generation
- Floor engagement
- Appointment setting
- Sales presentations
- Closing techniques
- Client retention
- Monitor departmental performance metrics and implement action plans to achieve financial objectives.
Fitness Programming & Member Experience
- Ensure Personal Trainers consistently deliver safe, effective, and results-driven training programs.
- Maintain company standards for Group Fitness programming through regular coaching and quality assurance.
- Provide continuing education on exercise science, programming, customer service, and industry best practices.
- Foster an environment focused on member success, professionalism, accountability, and hospitality.
Marketing & Business Development
- Develop local fitness marketing initiatives that generate excitement surrounding new club openings.
- Promote Personal Trainers through community outreach, special events, in-club programming, and social media initiatives.
- Support member acquisition and retention through fitness-focused programming and engagement activities.
Fitness Department Administration
- Ensure payroll is accurate and submitted on time.
- Maintain trainer schedules while adhering to labor and payroll guidelines.
- Support cleanliness and presentation standards within all fitness areas.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and fitness department procedures.
- Perform additional fitness-related duties as assigned to support new club development and organizational growth.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current CPR/AED Certification
Preferred
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or a related field
Experience
Required:
- Minimum five (5) years of Personal Training experience
- Minimum three (3) years of Fitness Management experience
- Minimum two (2) years of multi-location leadership experience
- Demonstrated success managing, coaching, and retaining teams of 30 or more Personal Training professionals
- Proven success achieving departmental revenue goals and performance metrics
- Demonstrated ability to maintain:
- 40% Personal Training consultation rate
- 10% or greater Personal Training enrollment rate from new memberships
Preferred:
- Experience leading new club openings or launching fitness departments
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience managing high-growth fitness businesses
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and fitness club environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and demonstrate exercise techniques for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively with members, employees, vendors, and leadership.
- Ability to travel extensively by automobile and commercial airline.
Work Schedule
This is an exempt, full-time leadership position requiring flexibility to meet business needs.
A minimum commitment of 50 hours per week is expected; however, schedules will vary based on travel, hiring events, training, grand openings, and new club launch timelines.
Employment Eligibility
All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and be at least 18 years of age.
