About this role

Shermco Industries is an industry-leading organization in the Electrical Services sector. As a New Grad Electrical Engineer - Power Studies, Associate, you will perform electrical engineering studies and support field services, contributing to the reliability and safety of critical electrical systems.

What you'll do:

  • Perform electrical engineering studies, including power factor analysis, harmonic modeling, grounding analysis, short-circuits, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies for domestic and international projects
  • Provide engineering-related design, analysis, and studies. Design and troubleshoot protective relaying and controls
  • Occasionally work with the Field Services team on shutdown, startup, installation, and maintenance projects
  • Interact with customers to gather critical information, review engineering plans, and maintain professional relationships
  • Be hands-on with the engineering and field service group

What they're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a graduation date on or before December 2025
  • Willingness to be hands-on and work in the field alongside our field technicians
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods, and effectively communicate directly to customers and co-workers
  • Prefer candidates with an educational focus in Power Systems studies
  • Experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EasyPower, or other power system modeling software is a plus
  • Knowledge or high level understanding of performing protective relay projects, short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, and power quality studies is a plus
  • Utility design experience is a plus
