What You'll Do

The Nuclear Material Control & Accountability Staff Member (NMC&A) implement and maintain nuclear material accountability techniques that support organizational objectives. This role ensures accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of nuclear materials in compliance with domestic and international policies, regulatory frameworks, and generally accepted accounting principles.

• Applies nuclear accountability methods with reasonable latitude, ensuring work products meet established objectives and standards upon completion.
• Performs comprehensive nuclear material accountability services, including analysis and reporting of inventory data.
• Monitors, reconciles, and maintains nuclear material accounts, ledgers, statements, and transactional records.
• Prepares, reviews, and coordinates inventory statements and associated documentation according to formal accounting cycles and organizational procedures.
• Oversees and verifies nuclear material shipments and receipts, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and compliance with approved business practices.
• Coordinates timely and accurate input of nuclear inventory data into designated systems, aligning with accounting principles and nuclear material control requirements.
• Analyzes and interprets statistical inventory models to identify, assess, and explain inventory variances, determining their potential impact and significance.
• Reviews and validates nuclear material transactions for compliance with domestic regulations, international safeguards, and established organizational policies.
• May serve as a subcontractor technical representative, providing oversight, guidance, and coordination for subcontracted activities related to nuclear material accountability.
• Actively participates in worker involvement processes, contributing to work planning, hazard identification, and the development of safe and effective work methods.
• Offers input and suggestions that support continuous improvement of workplace efficiency, safety, and overall work environment quality.
• Performs additional duties as assigned to support mission objectives and organizational needs.

Minimum Job Requirements

• High school diploma and a minimum 7 years of relevant experience. Typical relevant experience ranging from 7 to 10 years.
• OR an Associate degree in related discipline and a minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
