The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the veteran population of Louisiana by providing medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans, with the ultimate goal of returning them to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.

Position Duties
Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate; OR
Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing, Practical Nursing, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician Program.
NOTE:
Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.

Job Duties:
- Assist with documenting the admission of new patients into the medical record.
Provides care to patients such as ambulating, feeding, bathing, positioning, and lifting.
Sterilize equipment and supplies.
Measures temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight; records in the patient's medical record.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Full-Time Position Probational
Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Nursing Assistant 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience
Work Schedule: Work hours are 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM / 6:00PM to 6:30AM. Alternant weekends.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
CNA 1 Special Entrance Rate $13.74 hourly (base pay).
CNA 2 Special Entrance Rate$14.70 hourly (base pay),
*Plus shifts differentials and premium pay of $3.00 per hour worked.
