About this role
UNFPA is a United Nations agency focused on sexual and reproductive health, rights, and population-related development outcomes. The OED Operations and Budget Compliance Analyst supports the Office of the Executive Director by coordinating financial, procurement, travel, ICT, asset management, logistics, risk management, and corporate process activities. The role also provides administrative, analytical, and follow-up support to senior leadership and the OED management team.
What you'll do:
- Coordinate and support the implementation of OED operational requirements across procurement, travel, ICT, asset management and logistics
- Work with OED teams to identify operational requirements and coordinate timely action with relevant corporate business units and service providers
- Follow operational processes from initiation through completion, ensuring that required documentation, clearances and follow-up actions are completed in a timely manner
- Monitor the status of operational requests, identify delays or outstanding requirements and follow up with relevant colleagues and service providers
- Support the resolution of routine operational issues and refer more complex matters to the supervisor as appropriate
- Maintain operational workplans, calendars, trackers and status reports to support effective planning and implementation
- Contribute to improving coordination and working arrangements between OED and relevant corporate service providers
- Support the preparation and monitoring of OED budgets and operational workplans
- Monitor expenditures, commitments and budget utilization and prepare regular updates for review by the supervisor
- Coordinate financial actions and ensure timely submission and follow-up of required documentation
- Support procurement planning and coordinate procurement requirements with OED teams and relevant corporate units
- Prepare and coordinate documentation required for procurement and contracting processes in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
What they're looking for:
- * Advanced university degree (minimum Master's degree or equivalent) in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, public administration, management, international development or another related field
- * Minimum 1 year of Professional experience in financial analysis, budget analysis, risk analysis, business analysis or management reporting is required
- * Demonstrated ability to analyse financial and operational data and translate findings into clear reports, dashboards and management information products
- * Knowledge of financial management, budgeting, internal controls and risk management principles
- * Strong analytical and research skills, including the ability to identify trends, variances and emerging issues from quantitative and qualitative information
- * Ability to prepare concise analytical notes, reports, presentations and management information products
- * Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset
