Qualifications

Have passed at least one course involving programming
Ability to analyze and process data
Ability to read and write academic literature, both in data science and AI, as well as in other scientific domains.
Knowledge of scientific problems, including programming evaluation code.
Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks within prescribed timelines.

Duties

Job duties include contributing to the Open Multimodal Artificial Intelligence (OMAI) project. Students will be responsible for coordinating with both data scientists and scientists in other domains, such as geology or environmental science, to ensure meaningful progress on this collaborative project.  Students will be responsible for tasks such as comparing the performance of open AI models on understudied scientific problems, including programming evaluation code, interacting with AIs and data in various formats, programming user interfaces, designing and implementing AI algorithms, and other related programming tasks. Students will analyze data with the help of AI and need to read and write academic literature, both in data science and AI as well as in other scientific domains.
