Operations & AI Initiative Intern

Sears Home Services, part of Transformco Corporate, is seeking an Operations & AI Initiative Intern to help transition the business to an AI-agentic operating model. The intern will document and analyze workflows, identify and prioritize automation opportunities, support testing and validation of AI-enabled solutions, and bridge operational teams with AI agent builders.

What you'll do:

• Partners with operational teams to understand and document current workflows
• Conducts interviews and gather operational process information from stakeholders
• Identifies opportunities for workflow optimization and automation
• Assists in developing process documentation and operational improvement recommendations
• Supports prototyping and testing of AI-enabled workflow solutions
• Participates in operational analysis, research, and transformation initiatives
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on project deliverables and implementation activities
• Tracks project progress and maintain supporting documentation
• Assists with testing, validation, and evaluation of operational improvement solutions
• Participates in meetings, presentations, and project status discussions
• Serves as a business translator between operations teams and AI agent builders
• Validates whether proposed agents reduce manual work, improve cycle time, reduce errors, or improve customer/technician experience

What they're looking for:

• * Some undergraduate education
• * Less than one year of related experience
• * 18 years of age or older
• * Currently pursuing a Bachelor s or Master s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Psychology, Operations, or a related discipline
• * Demonstrated interest in AI, automation, or operational transformation initiatives
• * Strong curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
• * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• * Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• * Ability to analyze workflows and identify improvement opportunities
• * Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
• * Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• * Prior internship, coursework, or project experience involving operations, analytics, technology, or business process improvement preferred
