Operations Analyst Internship - Remote (Summer 2027)

Builders FirstSource is a supplier of building materials, value-added components, and building services to the professional market. The Operations Analyst Intern will support business process improvement initiatives within Installed Services by analyzing operations, evaluating service and warranty processes, documenting workflows, and developing recommendations. The role will collaborate with field operations, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to improve customer experience and business performance.

What you'll do:

• Assist with various projects in support of the department
• Gather, organize, and analyze data to support operational reviews, process improvement initiatives, and special projects
• Conduct interviews and collaborate with field leaders, technicians, and business partners to understand current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Document and analyze current-state workflows, procedures, and system interactions
• Assist with the development of process maps, workflow documentation, presentations, and project recommendations
• Support data analysis and reporting activities using Excel, Power BI, and other business tools
• Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and brainstorming sessions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to department leadership when appropriate

• * Interest in Continuous Improvement, Lean principles, and operational excellence
• * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• * Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn about construction operations and installed services
