Operations Business Analyst Intern

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC provides sustainability solutions through waste, railcar, and marine services. The Operations Business Analyst Intern will analyze operational data, map workflows, track performance metrics, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve business processes and implement cost-saving solutions.

What you'll do:

• Analyze operational data to find process bottlenecks and efficiency gaps
• Daily data analysis on waste streams, facility output, and transportation logistics
• Design and update workflow charts, process maps, and user guides
• Build and maintain routine dashboards tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) or performance reports for leadership
• Collaborate with teams like finance, IT, and project management on cross-functional initiatives
• Assist with testing and evaluating new system resources or operational

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business or Data Analytics, or a related field
• Junior or Senior status by fall of 2027
• 3.0 GPA
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and basic familiarity with data visualization tools
• Excellent problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills to present findings clearly
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
