About this role
Overview:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership of the SIMOS operation. This position is accountable for safety, quality, service, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and team development. The Operations Manager partners closely with the customer while leading supervisors and associates to achieve operational excellence through standard work, continuous improvement, and strong people leadership.
This role requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable spending the majority of their day on the warehouse floor coaching leaders, solving problems, improving processes, and building strong customer relationships.

Primary Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Direct daily warehouse operations to meet customer expectations.
- Ensure labor is aligned with workload and production requirements.
- Monitor productivity, quality, service levels, and operational KPIs.
- Lead daily startup meetings and end-of-shift reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Customer Partnership
- Serve as the primary operational contact for the customer.
- Build strong relationships through proactive communication.
- Quickly resolve customer concerns while maintaining SIMOS standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve service and add value.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, leads, and hourly associates.
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching and performance discussions.
- Hold leaders accountable while creating a positive and engaged culture.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention efforts.
- Develop future leaders within the operation.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture through daily engagement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety observations and audits.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate operational documentation and reporting.
Financial Performance
- Manage labor costs to budget.
- Monitor overtime and staffing efficiency.
- Understand operational profitability and gross margin.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing service or quality.
Continuous Improvement
- Utilize Lean principles to improve workflow.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends.
- Implement sustainable process improvements.
- Encourage team participation in problem-solving and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics.
- Experience leading supervisors and hourly teams.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Ability to analyze operational metrics and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.

Salary Range: $64,913.00 - $81,141.35 annually, depending on experience and geographic location.
Please note that actual compensation offered may vary based on local pay requirements, and will meet or exceed state-specific minimum wage or salary thresholds.
