Optical Engineer Intern

General Dynamics Mission Systems develops high-technology solutions, products, and services for defense and scientific missions. The Optical Engineer Intern will apply classroom-learned skills while working with collaborative teams on technical projects supporting national security and defense services.

• The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associated with our core mission

• Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology
• Optical Engineer Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Optical Engineering, Physics or Systems Engineering discipline
• Department of Defense secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time
• Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
• U.S. citizenship is required
• Clear understanding of engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards
• Creative thinker with ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity
• Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success
• Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
• A preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher
