Palo Verde Engineering Summer Internship (Electrical/Computer Engineer)

Arizona Public Service generates clean, reliable, and affordable energy for Arizona and is seeking engineering students for a paid 10-week Palo Verde summer internship. The intern will perform engineering analyses and designs, support research and technical reviews, coordinate with other disciplines, and present project results.

What you'll do:

• Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies
• Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews. Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations
• Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments
• Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments
• Performs other related duties as required

What they're looking for:

• Actively enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university undergraduate program in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline
• Approved Engineer degrees: Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural
• (A four-year bachelor of Engineering Technology degree is not considered an automatic equivalent for a B.S. degree in Engineering. A review of the degree program curriculum must be completed by Engineering department management.)
• Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training
• Knowledge and ability to apply basic discipline engineering principles
• Practices and theories and use commonly applied engineering approaches and calculations
• Problem analysis/resolution techniques
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, methods and safety standards in the area of applicable engineering discipline
• For positions at Palo Verde Generating Stations (PVGS) all openings will require applicants to be a U.S. person
• Minimum GPA of 3.2
• Actively enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university undergraduate Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering discipline or related applied science discipline
