About this role
Position Title: Parachute Rigger
Location: Yuma Proving Ground, AZ
Clearance required: SECRET
Scope of Work: Provides FAA-certified parachute rigger support to the Military Free Fall School at Yuma Proving Ground, AZ, packing non-tactical Ram-Air Parachute Systems to sustain continuous jump operations for school instructors.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Pack Performance Designs main parachutes into approved free-fall container systems per OEM recommendations and unit standard operating procedures.
- Repack an instructor's alternate parachute during active jump cycles to eliminate training downtime.
- Pack a standard parachute within a maximum of five (5) minutes and support surge packing of 20 systems within 30 minutes.
- Complete and maintain the Army Parachute Log Record (DA Form 3912) after each pack.
- Perform minor repairs such as canopy patching and hand tacking per 14 CFR Part 65; perform major repairs only under the direct supervision of a Master Parachute Rigger.
- Not exceeding 40 parachute systems packed per rigger per day.
Qualifications
- Valid FAA Senior-rated Parachute Rigger certification, current throughout the contract
- Active Secret clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Successful completion of a practical pack interview (three Performance Designs main parachutes within 21 minutes)
- Compliance with FAA and 14 CFR Part 65 eligibility, including drug screening and random testing
- Documented parachute rigging work history; ability to work independently
- Ability to pass a background check
