A Brief Overview
- You will assist patients and health care needs as directed by clinicians during Emergency Department visit including performing 12 lead EKGs, blood draws, initiate Hep-locks, bedside point of care testing, aerosol treatments.
- You will ensure the daily completion of point of care testing quality controls, defibrillator checks, refrigerator checks, transports.
- You will perform ABGs and gain IV access as directed by order.
- You will prepare patients and care environments for exam, specimen collection and anticipates needs of patients and providers proactively.
- You will perform delegated basic procedures as described by the competency based tool and orientation program.

- You will performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
