Job Description
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) Educator is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of orientation, education, competency validation, and ongoing professional development for designated paraprofessional staff throughout the organization. This role ensures that all new and existing paraprofessional employees are prepared to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practice. The PCT Educator serves as a clinical and educational resource, collaborating with Nursing Professional Development, unit leadership, Human Resources, and interdisciplinary departments to promote consistency in onboarding, competency assessment, and continuing education for paraprofessional team members.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education/Experience (minimum required): Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an acute care hospital in a patient care technician or other paraprofessional/ professional healthcare role. Demonstrated experience serving as a preceptor, educator, mentor, or clinical resource preferred
- License/Certification Required: None
- Skills: Strong knowledge of acute care patient care workflows and paraprofessional scope of practice. Exceptional organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding presentation and public speaking abilities. Ability to educate diverse learner populations using adult learning principles. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines. Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and accountability. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and learning management systems. Ability to analyze educational outcomes and make data-driven improvements
