About this role
Parking Ambassador
The University of Iowa Parking & Transportation department is seeking a Parking Ambassador. This position will ensure compliance with university parking regulations, provide assistance to patients, staff, and students entering parking ramps, and directs to available parking options accordingly.
Duties to Include:
- Monitors traffic flow and parking ramp capacity.
- Provides assistance to motorists, patients, or visitors by directing to appropriate parking options, elevators, skyways, or shuttle services.
- Verifies validity and eligibility of each vehicle parking in hospital ramps.
- Provides customer service and assistance to patients and visitors who have questions, concerns, or specials needs including assistance with ADA parking or spaces close to entrances/elevators.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00AM-2:30PM
Location: Campus
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Two years’ experience in a public contact position.
- Experience must include use of computers and tablets
Special Qualifications:
- A valid driver’s license is required, as well as an ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University of Iowa campus and locations of various parking facilities.
- Customer service/public contact experience.
- Ability to adapt, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills in order to interact effectively with people from various backgrounds and cultures.
