%3Cb%3EA Brief Overview%3C/b%3E%3C/br%3E%3Cp%3EThe Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) completes patient care activities and provides clerical support as delegated by the RN. PCNAs perform duties including, but not limited to: ADLs, vital signs, I%26O, 12-lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene, and venipuncture (where applicable). Familiarity with using: Wheelchair, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population. Assists with patient data collection and reporting. Maintains the patient record (in written and/or electronic format). Facilitates communication and efficient unit operations. Orients newly hired PCNAs. %3C/p%3E%3Cb%3EWhat You Will Do%3C/b%3E%3C/br%3E%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EPerforms basic patient care tasks as delegated by the RN and assists, under the direction of the RN, in the implementation of the established plan of care.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ECompassionate in all interactions with patients, families, and peers.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EFollows established evidence-based prevention guidelines to promote positive patient outcomes.
