Job Profile

 

The Patient Care Technician (PCT I) is accountable for supporting nursing and medical staff in patient care. The PCT I coordinates activities in outpatient and procedural areas to facilitate smooth patient flow. The PCT I assists in patient data collection and performs select screenings relevant to area/assignment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   

1. Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:

a. Education: High School diploma or the equivalent or technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.

b. Licensure/Certification: 
Nursing/Medical Assistant Certification required.
Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
Other certificates as required by unit/service/clinic.

2. Work Experience:   Six (6) months - One (1) year related clinical experience preferred.

3. Skills/Knowledge:        
Mental Health First Aid within 90 days of hire.  
EKG,  and/or Phlebotomy competency validation required, as applicable to specialty area within 6 months of hire.

1. Communication Skills:
Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)

2. Other Skills: 
        Medical Terms  PC  

3. Work Schedule:  
Weekends Holidays   FlexibleWork Schedule:  Weekends, Holidays, Flexible and Overtime

Equipment Operated:
Minor medical equipment and computer.
