Job Overview
As a PCT on the Observation Unit, you’ll work closely with nurses to provide hands‑on care to patients who require short‑term evaluation, treatment, and monitoring. You’ll assist with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and compassionate bedside care — including support for patients nearing the end of life. Your steady presence and attention to detail help ensure patients feel supported during a critical window in their care.

What You’ll Do
- Assist with bathing, oral care, toileting, and linens
- Support safe mobility, repositioning, and transfers
- Monitor and record vital signs
- Document patient information accurately
- This role includes exposure to bodily fluids and sensitive patient situations
- Safely lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
About the Observation Unit
The Observation Unit is a 23‑bed unit with remote telemetry capabilities, caring for patients who need short‑term evaluation and monitoring as test results guide decisions for admission or discharge. The team caress for a wide range of patient conditions, making it an excellent environment to strengthen critical thinking and time‑management skills.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within six months of hire
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of required PCT classes for the unit
