About this Position

The Patient Service Representative is responsible for performing a variety of administrative support duties related to patient care. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors entering the facility, the position requires assisting patients, efficiently and accurately to ensure an ideal patient experience. Required duties include scheduling and greeting patients/visitors and answering questions, collecting and entering all necessary patient information, explaining processes and forms, verifying insurance, processing payments, and educating patients on benefits, programs, and community services available.

Required Qualifications

• High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

• Six (6) months related job experience in a medical office or equivalent experience

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with computers and software, performing data entry, answering the telephone, and scheduling appointments
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records; EPIC highly desirable

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

• Ability to take telephone messages and have an understanding of medical terminology
