About this role

The Division of Pediatric Allergy & Immunology at the University of Rochester Medicine Golisano Children’s is seeking to fill a clinical faculty position with the option of a joint appointment in the Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology.

Candidates with an independent research program will also be considered for the Dr. Eric M. Dreyfuss Professorship, which is to support a named faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at the Golisano Children’s Hospital to conduct research in the field of allergic diseases, asthma, or clinical immunology, committed to the future health of children and adults.

The Divisions provide state-of-the-art patient care, provide training for medicine and pediatric residents and allergy/immunology fellows, and are actively engaged in a wide spectrum of clinical, translational, and basic research activities.  The Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology houses the Center for Food Allergy, a multidisciplinary program in clinical care, education, and research in food allergies. We have a robust oral immunotherapy program, perform over 700 oral food challenges a year, and provide subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy, pulmonary function testing, drug challenges, and clinic-embedded nutrition and psychology counseling. The Division of Pediatric Allergy & Immunology directs multidisciplinary sub-subspecialty clinics for eosinophilic esophagitis, food protein-induced enterocolitis, severe asthma, and inborn errors of immunity. The Division is a founding member of the Golisano Children’s Hospital Specialty Program for Assessment of Immune Responses in Kids (SPARK), which is a multidisciplinary team of pediatric subspecialists who care for patients with immunodeficiency and immune dysregulation syndrome. We are a FARE Clinical Network Center of Excellence, a World Allergy Organization Center of Excellence, and a GA2LEN ANACARE Anaphylaxis Care Center of Excellence.

The Department of Pediatrics is also committed to enhancing pediatric allergy and food allergy research in the Center of Food Allergy under the leadership of Dr. Kirsi Jarvinen-Seppo. There are also opportunities to design, participate in, and lead observational studies and interventional clinical trials as principal or co-investigator. Clinical research training programs, including an institutional KL2 program and those leading to a master's degree, are available via the CTSA.

The academic ranks for the positions are open and dependent on prior experience.  Candidates with M.D. or M.D. and Ph.D. degrees or equivalent, who may be Board Certified/Board eligible, are encouraged to apply.
