Job Summary: 
Erlanger is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine team at Erlanger North. This position is focused primarily on the evaluation, management, and follow-up care of pediatric patients seen in the Sleep Medicine Clinic. The APP will work collaboratively with pediatric pulmonologists, sleep medicine specialists, nursing staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

The Advanced Practice Provider will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, obtain detailed medical histories, perform physical examinations, develop and implement treatment plans, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and provide ongoing management of children with sleep-related disorders. The APP will monitor patient progress, provide education and counseling to patients and families, coordinate care with referring providers, and ensure appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to delivering compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families. Previous experience in pediatrics, pulmonology, sleep medicine, or a related specialty is preferred but not required.

This is a full-time position located at Erlanger North. The schedule is Monday through Friday on day shift with no weekends, holidays, or call requirements.

This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Education:
Required: 
Graduate from a nationally accredited school of nursing for both undergraduate and Master's degree; Pediatric certification required or Masters of Science in Medicine of a certified Physician Assistant program


Experience: 
Preferred: 
Minimum of 3 years experience in pediatric clinic. Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills; knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education.



Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required: 
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee. Certification by the American Nurses Association or National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners as a Nurse Practitioner.

The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

BLS prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward

Department Position Summary: 
A nurse practitioner is employed by Erlanger Medical Center and is responsible for participating in the diagnosis, treatment and supportive care of pediatric patients.

The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her clinic. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective to the patient's status. Interpretation of the appropriate information is needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Nurse Practitioner's protocols.
