About this role
Health Care for the Homeless is a mission-driven organization working to end homelessness through equitable health care and advocacy. The People Operations & Recruitment Coordinator will support HR and talent acquisition functions, coordinating recruitment activities and ensuring a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers.
What you'll do:
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and communication
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies
- Maintain applicant tracking systems and ensure all candidate data is accurate and up to date
- Support onboarding activities by preparing new hire documentation, facilitating orientation sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition for new employees
- Assist with employee engagement programs, benefits administration, and other people operations initiatives as needed
- Generate recruitment and HR reports to provide insights on hiring metrics and workforce trends
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies throughout recruitment and people operations processes
What they're looking for:
- High School Diploma
- At least 1-2 years of experience in recruitment, human resources, or people operations
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR information systems (HRIS)
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Experienced in customer service or public facing environments
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience working in a fast-paced corporate environment or startup
- Knowledge of employment laws and best practices in recruitment and HR
- Certification in HR or recruitment (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, AIRS)
- Proficiency with HR analytics and reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
