Arnold Palmer Hospital is seeking for Pharmacy Support Assistant to assist with putting away newly acquired inventory. Candidates in this position will also be enrolled in the PSA to Pharmacy Technician program.
This position will support both Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital
Shift: Varies - VFT
Responsibilities:- Pre-packs any bulk items into unit dose, and maintaining pre-packing area clean and organized.
- Assists with daily inventory of all medication and supplies as assigned.
- Assists with filling any unit stock requisition.
- Monitors all inventory for outdated material.
- Keeps patient cassettes and medications storage bins clean.
- Keeps compounding equipment clean and organized such that area is compliant with Chapter 795 standards.
- Keeps IV Room clean, organized and stocked such that it is compliant with Chapter 797 standards.
- Transports all medications and IVs including controlled substances and chemotherapy to all nursing units, other departments and outpatient clinics in a timely manner as assigned.
- Performs Unit Inspections in a timely manner as assigned.
- Performs medication refrigerator/freezer temperature monitoring as assigned.
- Understands safety, emergency and risk management procedures.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the basic computer system related to the position.
- Operates the equipment required for pharmacy procedures, consistent with operating instructions, safety regulations and policy and procedures.
Education/Training
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successfully completion of the in-house Pharmacy Support Assistant entry-level training program associated with job description.
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand Basic English.
