Post-Doctoral Fellow

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Oklahoma State University is seeking a Post-doctoral Researcher with expertise in Transportation Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Autonomous Driving or related field.

Successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in innovative transportation engineering and emerging technologies, with emphasis on autonomous driving systems, multimodal sensor integration, connected vehicle data, big data analytics, and automated infrastructure data collection. The Postdoctoral Researcher will work in Dr. Joshua Li and a multidisciplinary research team to advance research on autonomous vehicle deployment in rural and underserved environments. Responsibilities include coordinating research activities across multiple projects; contributing to proposal development and technical reports; leading and co-authoring peer-reviewed publications; supervising graduate and undergraduate students; and developing software tools and data processing pipelines to meet sponsor requirements.

The position is available starting September 1, 2026. The initial appointment length is 12 months contingent upon successful performance and funding availability.

Oklahoma State University is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, approximately 60 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The School currently has 17 faculty members, 280 undergraduate students, and 50 graduate students. The School is a unique blend of teaching and research excellence. Research expenditures are approximately $150,000 per faculty member. The OSU Civil Engineering program has undergone a major expansion through the construction of new offices and classrooms, as well as the new Endeavor Lab. The Endeavor Lab is a 72,000 sf interdisciplinary undergraduate laboratory opened in the fall semester of 2018.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in a field closely related to Civil and Environmental Engineering is required.
