Postdoctoral Fellow - Neutron scattering of confined fluids

An exciting postdoctoral opportunity is available in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University to investigate the structure and dynamics of confined fluids using neutron and X-ray scattering, complemented by techniques such as thermodynamics measurements, electron microscopy and broadband dielectric spectroscopy. The research aims to advance our understanding of both classical and quantum fluids by elucidating how atomic and molecular dynamics, dimensionality, and confinement govern their macroscopic properties.

• Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science and Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience with scattering techniques (neutron and X-ray scattering experience is highly desirable) but experience with complementary materials characterization techniques such as light scattering will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of condensed matter physics and/or principles of materials physics.
• Proficiency in data analysis using software such as MantidPlot, Igor Pro or similar.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
• A strong record of scientific productivity, as evidenced by publications and presentations.
