About this role
The Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences at the California Institute of Technology invites applications for a two-year position as a Postdoctoral Scholar Teaching Fellowship in Visual Culture, to begin in time for Caltech’s fall term 2027. Area of Specialization: We seek candidates whose research focuses on visual culture and the environment, with preference for candidates whose research would benefit from access to collections at The Huntington Library. We welcome applications from scholars trained in Art History, Architectural History, Cinema and Media Studies, Environmental Studies, Literature, History, or related fields. The successful candidate will be expected to teach two (approximately ten-week) undergraduate courses in the first year of their appointment and three undergraduate courses in their second year. The appointment is contingent upon completion of the Ph.D.
