Power & Analog Hardware Electrical Engineer I (Onsite)

RTX is an aerospace and defense company developing complex systems for a safer, more connected world. The Power & Analog Hardware Electrical Engineer I will design, analyze, simulate, and test power conversion circuitry, guide ECAD personnel through PWB layouts, perform scheduled design work, and present technical data to program leadership and technical staff.

What you'll do:

• Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard non-isolated power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost) including modules and discrete designs
• Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation
• Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule
• Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• Experience in low-level electronics components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes and/or transistors, etc and the ability to design with them
• Experience with any of the following non-isolated converter topologies:  buck, boost, buck-boost
• Experience with design, analysis, and test with analog electronic design and analysis, including FET, BJT, and/or Op-amp circuits
• Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects
• Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics
• Demonstrated use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout 
• Understanding of fundamental power conversion concepts, components, and techniques
• Basic understanding of commonly used power converter and/or motor drive control schemes
• Familiarity with circuit simulators such as SIMPLIS, Saber and/or analysis tool Mathcad
