About the Role
The Power Electronics Engineer for our installation program will own converting the output of the microturbines we bring on-site into the 800VDC our first site requires. This includes designing, procuring, and installing every piece of power electronics between the turbines and the DC bus bar we connect into.
You'll be based in San Francisco, but plan on stretches of weeks on-site during installation and commissioning, not just the occasional trip. You will take this from a paper design through a working installation, then be there for commissioning to make sure it performs the way you designed it to.
This is not a role where the design ships and someone else installs it. You will be on-site for the install and accountable for the interface working end to end.
What We're Looking For
Experience designing and deploying power conversion equipment at industrial scale, whatever the domain. AC-to-DC conversion, motor drives, grid-tie inverters, anything where you took a design from schematic through a working, commissioned installation, not just a bench prototype.
You think about installation and serviceability as part of the design, not an afterthought. You're comfortable being on-site through commissioning rather than handing it off once the drawings are done.
Compensation
$165,000 to $215,000 base.
