Job Description and Duties

Minimum Qualifications: Pre-Registered Dietitian
Education: Equivalent to graduation from college with a major in dietetics or institutional management from a coordinated undergraduate dietetic program or a formalized post baccalaureate education program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics and verification of application to take the registered dietitian examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
To ensure that your application will be considered for this recruitment the following items are required:
- You must complete the STD. 678 Employment Application and include duties performed with Supervisor’s name and contact information. All experience and education relatable to this classification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the minimum qualifications for this position. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Attach a copy of proof of degree and transcripts.
Applications will be accepted until position is filled. Please note that the application submission cutoff date is set for every 15th and 31st of the month. Applications received after this date will be processed during the next cutoff.
In accordance with CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.The position will be filled based upon budget approval. This is limited-term position with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Department Information
Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres. Staff is dedicated and committed to delivering high quality, cost-effective, professional services and specialized programs in an environment that promotes continuous improvements in treatment for individuals with mental disabilities.
Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary salary reductions in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) accruals.
