DEPARTMENTAL PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITY


INTERVIEWS TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 1, 2026

This is a Departmental Promotional opportunity and is limited to current employees who occupy a permanent position in the Information Technology Services Department and meet the minimum qualifications and filing requirements specified in this announcement. Extra-help employees are not eligible.

The Information Technology Services Department invites applications for the position of Print Production Technician I. Incumbents operate and maintain high-volume print, mail, copy, bindery equipment, as well as other equipment, related to the production, finishing, and storage of reprographic materials.

Minimum Qualifications

OPTION 1:


Experience: One (1) year of full-time, paid work experience operating high-volume equipment in a production environment.


OPTION 2:


Experience: Two (2) years of full-time, paid production support experience which included regular operation of printing, copying, mailing, or bindery equipment in a high-volume printing environment.


Substitution: Completion of fifteen (15) semester units in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications, Visual Communications that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. A copy of your transcripts verifying completion of coursework is required and must be attached to your application.


In addition to the options listed above, the following may be required:


License: Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent, may be required.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.

  • The eligible list for this recruitment may be extended up to 6 months, and may be used to fill both extra-help and permanently allocated positions.

Positions in this classification are in Medical Group II - Moderate Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8). This group includes positions which require moderate physical effort using arms, legs, back, and trunk in frequent lifting, pushing or pulling of objects weighing (or offering resistance equivalent to) 10-25 pounds, and occasionally over 25 pounds. Generally, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, as well as standing and walking are involved.
