About this role
Faegre Drinker is seeking a junior associate attorney to join our Private Client practice in the Indianapolis office. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated estate planning, estate and trust administration, and transfer tax matters for individuals, families, fiduciaries, non-profit organizations and closely held businesses.
The associate will work closely with experienced attorneys on a broad range of matters, including drafting estate planning and administration documents, researching estate, trust and tax law issues, preparing estate and gift tax returns, and assisting with estate and trust administration work. This role provides meaningful opportunities for professional development, client service, and cross-office collaboration within a nationally recognized private client practice.
At this time, the position is open only to attorneys who are licensed and eligible to practice law. Current law students, including 3Ls, will not be considered for this role.
Required Qualifications
• Demonstrated success in work related to trust and estate administration, probate, or gift and estate tax.
• Ability to produce high-quality work and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Indiana bar, or eligibility to waive into the Indiana bar promptly after hire.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior work, internship, clerkship, externship, law school clinic, or coursework experience in estate planning, trust and estate administration, or related areas.
• Comfortable working with financial and tax-related data in Excel.
