Job Summary

The Patient Flow Command Center (PFCC) Supervisor is accountable for the systemwide centralized coordination of patient admissions, transfers, and bed assignment across Harris Health. The PFCC Supervisor is a leadership role that will administrative, operational, human resource, and patient safety management in the patient flow command center off-shifts and holidays. This supervisor works closely with hospital leadership and Hospital Supervisors and serves as the system administrative resource on assigned shifts. The PFCC Supervisor oversees the seamless coordination of patient transfers, bed placement, and system throughput processes. Duties include: oversight of EMTALA compliance, oversight of all decisions related to system patient flow, escalates barriers to resolution as needed, and monitors system-wide adoption of patient placement workflows and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and ensure smooth care transitions. This role collaborates with operational leadership within Harris Health and external facilities to enhance patient flow and achieve optimal outcomes. The Supervisor serves as a clinical resource, educator, and subject matter expert, providing coaching and fostering ongoing professional development to ensure staff are equipped to address patient flow challenges effectively. The PFCC Supervisor has the authority to: Make decisions regarding system patient placement and operational continuity, address performance management, including staff coaching and performance evaluations, and resolve conflicts and lead service recovery to support exceptional patient care and staff engagement. This role provides oversight to ensure that care delivery, quality management, and staff utilization patterns are congruent with Harris Health System policies, guidelines, and standards. The PFCC Supervisor maintains open communication with Pavilion leadership and other disciplines concerning operations and actual or potential problems; engaging Executive Administrative and departmental leadership as needed, to assure appropriate communication regarding Pavilion operations. As a member of the hospital's leadership team, this supervisor establishes a setting that supports professional practice and empowers staff to provide safe, effective, compassionate, and efficient care in collaboration with all health care disciplines. The PFCC Supervisor ensures compliance with standards established by professional organizations; national, state, and local regulatory agencies; and institutional policies and procedures. The PFCC Supervisor is accountable for operations that uphold high standards of integrity and ethical behavior.

Degrees:
Bachelor of Nursing Degree from an accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field.
Master's Degree in Nursing or related field. Holds at least one (1) of the following in Nursing: Masters, or Doctoral degree. Preferred

Licenses & Certifications:
Certificate Applicable professional certification in administration or relevant clinical specialty certification is to be completed within two (2) years, if not held at the time of appointment.
Other certificates as required by unit/service.
Basic Life Support from approved American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Program
Registered Nurse Current RN license or valid permit to practice professional nursing in Texas

Work Experience:
Five (5) Years Work Experience clinical experience, transfer center, care management, hospital operations

Management Experience:
Three (3) Years of Management Experience management/leadership experience

Communication Skills:
Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
