About this role
Amphenol Industrial Operations is a leading provider of high-reliability power and signal connectors for industrial applications. The Process Engineer Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing processes, document improvements, and collaborate with teams to enhance production efficiency.
What you'll do:
- Assisting with documentation of manufacturing processes for components, connectors, cable assemblies, and harnesses
- Learning core product knowledge from Process Engineers
- Supporting documentation compliance with Quality System requirements, including helping with process validation
- Creating and maintaining accurate work instructions under supervision for new product introductions (NPIs)
- Collaborating with engineering services and internal teams to support departmental goals
- Observing and assisting in NPI builds for connectors, cable assemblies, or harnesses
- Conducting time studies and supporting the evaluation of time standards with Manufacturing and Assembly teams
- Contributing to project teams by supporting various design and process engineering tasks
- Developing organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills in a professional engineering setting
- Performs basic maintenance and assists with troubleshooting equipment
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related discipline)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Self-motivated and eager to learn in a collaborative environment
- Exposure to manufacturing environments (through coursework, labs, or previous internships)
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software
- Interest in hi-mix/low-volume manufacturing
