Process Engineer Intern

Merrick & Company is seeking a college Process/Chemical Engineering student for a paid summer internship with its Nuclear Services and Technology group in Aiken, South Carolina. The intern will gain technical experience by supporting process engineering projects, including P&ID drawings, process simulation, and engineering calculations, while collaborating with engineers, designers, clients, and other disciplines.

What you'll do:

• The Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of Process/Chemical engineering by working on actual projects for our clients. The summer internship will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in a variety of process engineering items including P&ID drawings, process simulation and engineering calculations
• The intern will collaborate with other disciplines, interface with engineers, designers, and clients, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently and in a team environment

What they're looking for:

• * **Must** have graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible
• * **Must** be pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program
• * **Must** be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles and calculations are required
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to problem solve
• **Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship
• * Being familiar with Microsoft Excel
• * Exposure to PFD and P&ID drawing
• * Local candidates strongly preferred
