The Division of Finance and Administrative Services is seeking a highly responsible individual to fill the role of Procurement Associate within the Procurement Unit. 

Semi-monthly salary: The current rate for this position is $1,916.66. Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay).

Annual Salary: $46,000.00

Job Location: This position will be located at 3418 Knipp Drive, Jefferson City, MO.

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

What you’ll do:  This position is a great entry point into the procurement profession. You will learn various contracting methods and help coordinate solicitation projects from the initial bid preparation through the final award.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Assisting in the purchase of services, products, and IT solutions that keep DSS programs running.
  • Helping draft, prepare, and manage contract documents.
  • Supporting the competitive bid process, which includes helping coordinate timelines and reviewing bid responses.
  • Working with DSS program staff to develop specifications for bid documents to make sure their team needs are met.
  • Researching potential vendors and solutions.
  • Keeping accurate, organized records for contracts and solicitations.
  • Partnering with DSS program staff on procurement and fiscal matters to keep projects moving forward.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - All you need for success

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 1-3 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and manage daily priorities.
  • Clear and effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • A logical approach to analyzing information and solving problems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • An adaptable mindset for when processes or priorities change.
  • A collaborative approach to working with co-workers, other state agencies, and vendors.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • General experience or familiarity with purchasing, contracting, or public procurement.
  • Basic familiarity with reviewing contracts or service agreements.
  • Comfort using Microsoft applications, and any prior experience with state systems like SAMII, MissouriBUYS, or MOVERS.
