Product Engineer Intern

JotPsych makes software for behavioral health clinicians and is expanding its products beyond clinical notes into billing, scheduling, and e-prescribing. The Product Engineer Intern will ship end-to-end product features across the UI, backend, database, and AI prompts, while collaborating with engineers, designers, and clinicians to improve software used by real clinicians.

What you'll do:

• Feature delivery. Take a scoped feature from "what should this do?" through PR and into production, with support
• Product iteration. Partner with engineers, designers, and clinicians to ship user-facing improvements
• Integration. Connect frontend UI to backend services: APIs, async jobs, realtime updates
• Internal tooling. Build small tools that make our team and our clinics operate faster (admin views, QA utilities, eval helpers)
• Engineering fundamentals. Tests, debugging, thoughtful refactors. Make the code base better than you found it

What they're looking for:

• You're a junior or senior in CS or a related discipline, graduating in 2027 or 2028
• You can work 40 hours a week in person at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for summer 2027
• You've shipped real software outside of class: personal projects, hackathons, research, internships
• You write code in at least one modern language (TypeScript, JavaScript, Python) and want to learn the rest
• You ask good questions and turn rough ideas into working software
• React, TypeScript, Python, or SQL experience
• Familiarity with any cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) or basic DevOps concepts
• Interest in healthcare, AI, language models, or security
