Product Management & Innovation (PM&I) Intern - (Summer 2027)

Bain & Company is a global consultancy that helps ambitious organizations define the future and achieve extraordinary results. The Product Management & Innovation Intern will design, prototype, and launch digital products, services, customer experiences, and businesses while collaborating with consultants, engineers, designers, and clients. The role supports product strategy, innovation, agile delivery, user research, and the development of AI-powered solutions.

What you'll do:

• Identify and validate opportunities for innovation using human-centered design methods
• Translate user and business needs into product concepts, prototypes, and MVPs
• Contribute to product vision, strategy, and roadmap development for digital initiatives
• Partner with engineers, designers, and clients to test and iterate solutions rapidly
• Leverage emerging technologies — including AI, data platforms, and automation — to accelerate business outcomes
• Support agile ceremonies, define user stories, and help manage backlogs across cross-functional teams
• Support backlog & planning (story writing, acceptance criteria), contributing to lightweight PRDs and simple roadmap artifacts
• Document and share internship learnings to senior Bain leaders

• • Can rapidly absorb and interpret business context, technical information, and customer needs
• • Are based in (or open to working from) New York or San Francisco
• This role requires in-person collaboration. You'll need to co-locate with your team at least three days a week , whether that's in a Bain office or at a client site, which may require travel
• • Prior experience in product management, startups, consulting, or technology
• • Coursework from a related dual-degree program (e.g., engineering, computer science, design, or product management)
• • Ability to use Gen-AI powered product development tools effectively (e.g., Cursor, Synthetic Users, V0, Loveable, etc.)
