About this role
Arcell is building an AI data scientist that provides trusted, evidence-linked answers across disconnected systems for defense and other mission-critical workflows. The Product Marketing Management Intern will research defense markets, customers, procurement channels, and competitors while developing positioning, messaging, customer-discovery materials, and evidence-backed go-to-market recommendations.
What you'll do:
- Research defense logistics, readiness, sustainment, acquisition, and industrial-base workflows
- Analyze government strategies, solicitations, procurement records, public mission signals, and customer requirements
- Evaluate potential beachhead markets and develop ideal customer profiles
- Map operational users, technical evaluators, acquisition stakeholders, champions, and decision-makers
- Build voice-of-customer and voice-of-mission libraries using cited primary sources
- Develop buyer personas, use-case cards, pilot hypotheses, and customer-discovery questions
- Research target organizations, primes, program offices, innovation units, and dual-use manufacturers
- Evaluate acquisition and access channels such as SBIR/STTR, DIU, Tradewinds, APEX Accelerators, industry events, partnerships, and direct outreach
- Develop product positioning, messaging hierarchies, competitive analyses, and objection-handling materials
- Draft one-pagers, website copy, pitch materials, outreach messages, use-case booklets, and product narratives
- Test messaging with prospective users and buyers, then recommend improvements based on evidence
- Work with technical materials to translate Arcell’s provenance, context, and AI capabilities into clear customer value
What they're looking for:
- Strong candidates will demonstrate:
- Excellent written communication
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to synthesize technical, market, and customer information
- Comfort working independently in an early-stage environment
- Careful source evaluation and attention to factual accuracy
- Interest in AI, defense technology, enterprise software, product strategy, or government innovation
- Willingness to test assumptions and revise recommendations when evidence changes
- • Coursework or experience in marketing, business, public policy, international affairs, engineering, computer science, economics, or a related field
- • Experience with customer discovery, market research, competitive analysis, or product positioning
- • Familiarity with defense acquisition, SBIR/STTR, government procurement, logistics, or the defense industrial base
- • Experience creating presentations, one-pagers, market maps, or structured research deliverables
Benefits:
- Remote, U.S. preferred; international applicants may be considered where legally and academically permitted
- Start and end dates are flexible around academic schedules
- We can work with your university to support academic credit where available
- Mentorship, project supervision, learning objectives, and required internship or capstone documentation
- Work directly with the founder on decisions that shape Arcell’s product and defense go-to-market strategy
- Build a portfolio of substantive research, positioning, use-case, and market-strategy work
- Gain exposure to defense innovation, government acquisition, enterprise AI, and dual-use commercialization
- Develop practical experience converting complex technical capabilities into clear, evidence-backed customer value
