The Assurance Experienced Senior Associate will be focused on strategic, impactful platforms used across the Assurance practice. The BDO Advantage initiative aims to standardize processes that drive expansive automation, digital relationship enablers, and emerging technologies that can be built upon for the future of assurance services work at BDO. This role will be key to the development and enhancement of advanced digital solutions and requires an on-going dedication to developing best-in-class products. The individual in this role will work closely with the Lead Product Owner managing the product strategy and direction, and assessing with roadmap planning, requirement gathering, and product deployments within an agile environment. They are the customer’s voice of the team, translating visions and ideas into features with detailed requirements. The role also works closely with the development team, which includes software engineers, designers, and quality assurance professionals.Job Duties:
- Facilitates the assessment of business demands and translates them into strategic product roadmaps for multiple or complex assurance technology platforms.
- Effectively prioritizes and manages the scope of each product launch to deliver key capabilities using agile methodologies
- Facilitates the prioritization and management of product backlogs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and maximizing value delivery.
- Defines and documents advanced feature requirements and user stories, including specified acceptance criteria
- Facilitates collaboration with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive consensus and manage dependencies across multiple projects.
- Plans the sprints with the development and testing team, and provides prioritization for each iteration, including coordination of dependencies with other product owners
- Prepares and participates in release and sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other agile events as needed
- Drives adoptions and ensures processes for users are easy and intuitive
- Prepares and provides updates to stakeholders and product management throughout the lifecyle of the products
- Coordinates with key stakeholders to ensure products are in compliance with regulatory and firm-wide policies and requirements
- Analyzes and monitors key performance metrics to ensure product performance and identify optimization opportunities

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance, required
Experience:
- Four (4) or more years of experience in product management and/or development, required
- Experience with development of custom web applications and digital transformation in assurance or compliance industries, preferred
License/Certifications:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner or Professional Scrum Product Owner, preferred
Software:
- Proficiency in managing user stories and backlog in Azure DevOps or similar products, required
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products, required
Languages:
- N/A
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to interview and influence senior stakeholders to document business requirements and clearly articulate priorities and decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with onshore and off-shore resources
- Ability to work closely with business analyst, developers and testers
- Able to manage complex problems and bring them to resolution
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and metrics to justify requirements, features, and drive management of product
Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $101,000 - $135,000
Maryland Range: $101,000 - $135,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $101,000 - $135,000
