About this role
Disney Entertainment & Sports LLC is hiring a Product Software Engineer I for the Cannonball squad. The role develops and maintains an enterprise CMS and publishing platform used to create and distribute marketing landing pages and related experiences across Disney streaming services. The engineer builds web app features and APIs, writes automated tests, and collaborates with QA and partner squads.
What you'll do:
- Feature Development: Build features on the Cannonball web app and supporting services—including entry editor, content models, publishing workflows, localization/locale behavior, and integrations with the broader MarTech ecosystem
- UI & API Engineering: Implement bug fixes and incremental improvements in Vue 3 / TypeScript UI and Node-based APIs, with a strong focus on clarity and maintainability
- Automated Testing: Write unit tests (Vitest), integration tests, and Playwright E2E suites for Tier 1 publish journeys following squad Definition of Done and coverage expectations
- Agile Participation: Participate actively in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and tech discussions; ask questions early and document learnings
- Operational Awareness: Leverage stage/pre-prod environments and our isolated E2E environment to validate changes prior to production
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with QA governance, sibling squads (Web Growth / Nexus), and internal daily power users
What they're looking for:
- Solid understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript and core web fundamentals (HTML/CSS, HTTP, REST, browser devtools)
- Coursework, internships, or personal projects demonstrating your ability to implement, test, and debug small features end-to-end
- Comfort learning within a large codebase and proactively seeking guidance
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in a hybrid, cross-functional team
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable field of study, or equivalent work experience
- Exposure to Vue, React, or another modern SPA framework
- Familiarity with Git version control, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions or similar)
- Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, or E2E)
- Interest in CMS platforms, content modeling, localization, or marketing technology
Benefits:
- A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
- The full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
- Hybrid work arrangement
