The role focuses on underwriting, structuring, marketing, and executing commercial real estate debt and structured capital assignments, while providing transaction, market, and analytical support to producers.
What you'll do:
- Prepare, review, and maintain institutional-quality underwriting for commercial real estate financing opportunities, including rent rolls, operating statements, borrower financials, debt sizing, valuation support, sources and uses, capitalization structures, and sensitivity analyses
- Support producers in evaluating financing strategies across senior debt, agency lending, life company, bank, CMBS, construction, bridge, mezzanine, preferred equity, joint venture equity, and other structured finance solutions
- Create and update lender and investor marketing materials, including financing memoranda, executive summaries, lender packages, pitch materials, transaction overviews, capital stack summaries, and closing or case-study support
- Assist in deal marketing and capital placement processes by organizing due diligence, tracking lender and investor outreach, maintaining process timelines, comparing quotes, summarizing feedback, and supporting producer recommendations to clients
- Research and summarize market conditions, lender appetite, investor mandates, financing terms, comparable transactions, and capital markets trends to help position opportunities and advise clients
- Coordinate with borrowers, lenders, investors, Colliers professionals, third-party consultants, and internal transaction teams to gather information, resolve questions, and maintain transaction momentum from initial sizing through closing
- Review and organize due diligence materials, including appraisals, environmental reports, property condition reports, leases, title information, surveys, insurance, financial statements, entity documents, and other transaction documentation
- Maintain deal files, pipeline information, lender and investor notes, transaction checklists, marketing lists, comparable financing databases, and other team resources with accuracy and timely updates
- Support Phoenix Debt & Structured Finance team initiatives, including market intelligence, business development tracking, relationship management, notable-deal libraries, capital provider databases, and recurring team operating processes
- Participate in producer meetings, pipeline reviews, lender and client calls, and internal strategy discussions; capture notes, action items, next steps, and follow-up responsibilities as needed
- Exercise sound judgment, confidentiality, responsiveness, and professionalism when handling borrower, lender, investor, and internal Colliers information
- Other duties as assigned
What they're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance, real estate, accounting, economics, business, or a related field
- Strong financial analysis, underwriting, valuation, and Excel modeling skills with the ability to interpret operating statements, rent rolls, loan terms, and capital structures
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, including the ability to summarize complex financing alternatives clearly and professionally
- High attention to detail and accuracy in underwriting, market materials, data management, lender communication, and transaction documentation
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments, meet deadlines, prioritize urgent transaction needs, and maintain responsiveness in a fast-paced production environment
- Sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving ability, and willingness to research, ask questions, and develop practical recommendations
- Collaborative team orientation with the ability to work effectively with producers, analysts, clients, lenders, investors, internal Colliers partners, and third-party professionals
- Professional presence, discretion, accountability, and client-service mindset
- Interest in commercial real estate capital markets, debt placement, structured finance, and long-term growth opportunity within a production-oriented advisory platform
- This is a full-time position in office five days a week. Days of work are Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Regular and reliable attendance required
