About this role
Toyota North America is a global automotive company developing innovative mobility solutions and manufacturing vehicles, engines, batteries, and transmissions. The Production Engineering STEM Co-op will complete engineering projects involving cost and defect reduction, machine efficiency, production data analysis, manufacturability, floor layouts, and safety processes while collaborating with teams and a mentor.
What you'll do:
- As a PE Co-op, you will be assigned between 1-3 projects that range from targeting cost or defect reductions, improving machine efficiency, collecting, and analyzing production data, re-designing parts/components for improved manufacturability, analyzing/improving floor layouts, implementing safety checks and processes, among many others. You will be working in a team environment, where you will be assigned a mentor to help with your personal and professional goals, on projects that provide value to the organization
- Co-op’s will work on a variety of engineering assignments in the following groups:
- Battery Manufacturing Engineering - Battery Cell, Battery Pack, Battery PLE
- Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering - Body, Assembly, Paint
- Environmental & Facilities Engineering
- Unit and Core Engineering - Stamping, Plastics and Powertrain
- Engineering Excellence & Strategy - Advanced Planning, Strategy and Planning, Manufacturing Project Innovation Center, New Model & Manufacturing
- Safety
What they're looking for:
- You must have the right to work in the United States and not require Toyota support or sponsorship for immigration-related employment (e.g., H-1B, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, ‘job flexibility benefits' [also known as I-140 or Adjustment of Status portability], etc.) now or in the future
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have completed at least one full academic year at a two- or four-year college or university post-high school (sophomore standing or above)
- Currently enrolled in a full-time, accredited degree program (this includes both two-year and four-year colleges) studying in an engineering discipline or related field, such as:
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Chemical
- Industrial
- Manufacturing
- Environmental
- Safety
