About this role
Usui International Corporation is seeking a Production Manager Intern to assist production leadership with various manufacturing activities. The role involves supporting KPI tracking, data analysis, and participating in continuous improvement projects.
What you'll do:
- Assist production leadership with daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing activities to support customer quality and delivery requirements
- Support tracking and reporting of department KPIs, including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity metrics
- Assist with data collection and analysis related to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), downtime, scrap, and labor utilization
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects under the guidance of production management
- Observe and support daily production meetings and shift handoffs
- Assist with maintaining production-related documentation, reports, and records
- Support 4S shop floor organization, cleanliness, and standardization initiatives
- Assist with coordination between production, quality, maintenance, and logistics teams to support manufacturing targets
- Observe and assist with staffing coordination, training documentation, and workforce planning activities
- Support compliance with safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and customer-specific requirements
- Assist with preparation for customer visits, audits, and internal reviews
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Operations Management, or a related field
- Strong interest in manufacturing leadership, production management, or operations
- Ability to analyze data, organize information, and support multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and learn shop-floor operations
- Basic understanding of manufacturing concepts and production environments
