Position Summary:
Organizes and supports production schedule for production departments to ensure that processing procedures are carried out according to specifications by performing the following duties.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluates production, Dimensional schedule to ensure compliance with processing specifications and work collaboratively cross functionally to meet production goals
- Observes processing of material; compares information with schedules to ensure compliance with processing specifications; informs supervisor of deviations from processing instructions and stops work if necessary; documents problems, procedures and production. Follows up and support engineers or department managers with corrective actions.
- Writes reports describing processing delays and deviations and provides recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Interprets shop travelers, drawings and procedures and recommends programs to performance metrics.
- Coordinates maintenance and repair of department units/machines and realigns production schedule if necessary.
- Coordinate with operations and leads to prepare for the next day’s production.
- Responsible for reporting of production.
- Generates daily and weekly production schedules to align with production goals and attend production meetings.
- Reports department schedules / production calls
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of all types of materials and thoroughly familiar with their characteristics regarding forging.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before managers or other Company employees.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Offices
Experience & Education
- two to five years related experience and/or training
Language Ability:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
