The Opportunity

The Program Manager - Risk Technology, is accountable for technology strategy, product management, delivery execution, and operational performance for the GRC technology portfolio. This role serves as the primary technology partner to Risk, Compliance and Governance leadership, shaping strategic technology investments, driving business transformation, and ensuring technology capabilities effectively enable regulatory, governance, and operational objectives.

The Risk Technology analyst works closely with business executives, enterprise architecture, information security, risk management, operations, and external partners to establish modern, data-driven solutions and effective operating models that improve decision-making, strengthen controls, increase operational efficiency, and support regulatory compliance.

This role is expected to balance product ownership, delivery execution, governance and risk management, vendor coordination, budget support, and team development, while delivering measurable business outcomes aligned with MetLife's Risk technology priorities. The role reports to a Head of Risk Technology and operates within the strategy and investment framework that leader sets.

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of Risk technology products and platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and enterprise priorities.
  • Lead the delivery, support, and continuous improvement of Risk technology solutions through effective product management, Agile execution, release planning, and portfolio governance.
  • Manage and develop project, program, and delivery resources, including capacity planning, work prioritization, performance oversight, and resource allocation across initiatives.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, Security, and business stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize investments, and deliver technology-enabled process improvements.
  • Provide oversight of portfolio performance, financial management, vendor relationships, delivery metrics, reporting, risk management, and control effectiveness.
  • Ensure technology solutions meet enterprise standards for governance, security, privacy, compliance, resiliency, and regulatory readiness.
  • Drive innovation through data, analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to enhance risk management capabilities, improve decision-making, and increase operational efficiency.

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 -10+ years of progressive leadership experience within financial services or technology organizations.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing large, cross-functional geographically distributed teams, external vendors, and strategic technology partners.
  • Demonstrated success defining and executing business-aligned technology strategies and multi-year roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of GRC related business processes and operating models.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale transformation, modernization, and business enablement initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and influencing skills, including interaction with senior executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive organizational change.
  • Working understanding of AI’s impact on team outputs, with the ability to set expectations for appropriate use and reinforce accuracy, compliance, and policy alignment.

  • Hands-on knowledge of GRC platforms such as IBM OpenPages, Archer, ServiceNow IRM/GRC, MetricStream, LogicGate, or Riskonnect.
  • Familiarity with AI governance and model risk tooling (e.g., IBM watsonx.governance, Credo AI, Domino/model inventory solutions) and frameworks such as the NIST AI RMF or ISO/IEC 42001.
  • Exposure to third-party/vendor risk and issues management tooling (e.g., Prevalent, ProcessUnity, ServiceNow TPRM).
  • Experience with risk reporting and analytics using Power BI, Cognos, or equivalent.
  • Solid financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and business case development.
  • Relevant certifications such as CRISC, PMP/SAFe, or vendor platform certifications.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is $141,600 - $181,800. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
