Project Accountant

ArchKey Solutions is hiring a Project Accountant to manage accounting for assigned projects within its Major Projects group. The role works with project teams to track and analyze financial data, report project financial status, and support project billing, cost management, forecasting, and closeout.

What you'll do:

• Maintain awareness of construction contract requirements for assigned projects to ensure contract requirements are met
• Set up new projects, ensuring conformity to contract requirements
• Prepare cost-plus and lump sum billings, ensure favorable accruals for positive project cash flow, and work with the project team for prompt payment receipt; prepare billing reconciliations and respond to customer or project team inquiries
• Review payables to ensure accurate sales & use tax, coordinate vendor payments as needed, ensure subcontractor pay applications are received timely, and review tools/equipment reports
• Conduct project cost reviews and reporting for the project team, assist with monthly financial projections, and identify issues impacting project costs
• Maintain an understanding of the labor cost components of the project
• Prepare regular financial reports and statements for project stakeholders
• Perform cost analyses and profitability assessments
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
• Review project expenses for accuracy
• Participate in monthly project forecast meetings
• Manage the project financial closeout process

• Demonstrate strong accounting skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, in particular Excel: pivot tables and lookups
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent numerical skills and the ability to analyze complex financial information
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Desire to learn and grow professionally
• Minimum of 1 year of construction Project Accounting experience preferred
