Project and Policy Analyst 1

The UCLA Voting Rights Project works to ensure an accessible and equitable voting system through impact litigation, research, and clinical education. Under close supervision of the Directors, the Junior Policy Analyst assists with policy, research, program planning, administration, management, and implementation while analyzing policies and procedures and supporting department administrators, stakeholders, and the legal team.

What you'll do:

• Under close supervision of the Directors, the Junior Policy Analyst assists in policy, research, and program planning, development, administration, management and implementation
• The position participates in interpreting, monitoring and analyzing information regarding policies and procedures and provides information and support to department administrators, stakeholders, and the legal team

• Interpersonal skills and ability to maintain cooperative relationships and ongoing communications with persons of diverse social, educational, and cultural backgrounds. (Required)
• Working knowledge of social science research methods and ability to communicate research and policy-related information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. (Required)
• Bachelor's Degree in good academic standing from an accredited college or university. (Required)
• Highly organized with strong skills in using project management tools to compile information in the most efficient and informative, manage project tasks, and track progress and information. (Preferred)
• Demonstrate exceptional abilities at writing, reporting and copy editing. This includes the ability to write concise, logical, grammatically correct documents and materials for academic and public consumption. (Preferred)
• Ability to help extract data, merge different data sets, read and review syntax for coding of large data sets. (Preferred)
